At KEI, we as both employees and Canadians are very proud to show our support of our Canadian Armed Forces by wearing red on Fridays. By wearing red, Canadians show our Armed Forces past and present that we are grateful for their service and sacrifices that they have made on our behalf.
In 2013, KEI put out its first red t-shirt design with a motorcyle theme on the back of the shirts. This year, KEI chose a second design featuring former KEI employee Dylan Matheson and son of of KEI Polishing Foreperson, Mike Matheson, who is currently a Gunner in the 4th Artillery Regiment General Support with our Royal Canadian Artillery and showing our Kitchener cenotaph.
Recently, Dylan stopped into KEI and stated, “I was born into KEI, I’ve never known any other company, it’s part of my family, it’s part of me.” In regards to Red Friday and the support KEI and Canadians show, Dylan stated, “I appreciate the public’s support for us”, and added, “thanks for doing it!”
Our new Red Friday t-shirts have arrived at KEI – please see HR to pick up yours!
