A family owned and operated business since 1948, Kuntz Electroplating Inc. (KEI) boasts North America's largest and most advanced metal finishing operation for original equipment manufacturers of steel and aluminum components. As the first metal finisher to simultaneously achieve ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 certification, Kuntz has become the benchmark for quality and service. We are the leader in our industry.

As a Tier 1 and a Tier 2 supplier, our services include polishing, bright buffing, copper-plating, and decorative nickel-chrome plating on aluminum, steel and other substrates. We offer a number of other specialized finishes including Satin Nickel and Smokey Chrome. We operate four of the largest and most advanced plating production lines in the industry – no job is too big or too small. Our polishing systems utilize the latest in automated and robotic technology available.

We are the world leader in auxiliary anode plating technology. Our use of auxiliary anodes ensures that even the toughest corrosion and performance specifications can be met on the most complex designs. Our finishes can pass 250+ hours CASS when required. In addition, KEI has developed specialized coatings for applications over top of nickel-chrome surfaces. These coatings offer additional protection and endurance for parts exposed to the harshest elements and have been approved by customers such as General Motors, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler, Nissan and Harley-Davidson.


Quality is our #1 focus. Our reputation as a leader in quality finishing has earned us numerous industry awards. To ensure that quality is maintained, KEI has two of the most sophisticated testing laboratories in the industry. Our Dry lab includes state-of-the-art destructive and non-destructive equipment that measure plating thicknesses, uniformity, and corrosion resistance properties of the finish. Our Wet Lab maintains all plating bath parameters mainly through wet titration and H.P.L.C. (High Pressure Liquid Chromatography). This is supplemented with our laboratory electroplating cells (Hull cells) used to analyze bath plating quality. Other equipment used routinely includes UV/Vis spectrophotometer, pH meter, atomic absorption, and T.O.C. (Total Organic Carbon) analyzer. These analytical tools are a critical part of the day-to-day activities regarding process control.
